Signs!

Had fun making signs this weekend! Used some free plywood and pallets.

My mom had a great idea to use a thick sharpie to write on the pallet instead of paint.

Check out the signs below!!

Reception Dinner on a Dime

If your looking for ideas on how to have a full dinner for your reception on a dime here are some ideas I plan on going with.

SAM'S CLUB! Definitely check out Sam's for cost savings. We compared costs from Sam's, a wholesaler and a dollar store. Sam's was the cheapest of all.

Here's some prices for items my mom found at Sam's
  • 300 ct of forks $8.78
  • 16oz cups 100 count for $7.68
  • 9oz cups 200 ct $8.34 (Probably going to go with the smaller cups to limit how much alcohol everyone can get at a time!)
  • 6 1/4" clear plates 70 ct $8.78
  • 3.0 Liter bottles of wine $8.98
  • Lasagna serves 12 $9.98 (We're probably going to go with meat from a cow our family is butchering but if we don't lasagna seems like the easiest and cheapest way to serve the mass of people at the reception!)

SAMs has a wide variety of wine (depending on if your state sells wine in grocery stores). Below are some pics of their cheapest wine...but their price range varies from way cheap to $20 a bottle!

Fireworks

So...I've been bouncing around the idea of using fireworks for entertainment after the wedding during the reception!  My future brother in-law LOVES fireworks and my wedding is just days before the 4th!  Thinking it could be good free entertainment (Well only free if he goes to the firework stand before hand a picks up the fireworks)

Are fireworks at a wedding white-trash?!  Or is this cute and fun?!

Tux

My fiance and I went Tux shopping this weekend!  Our first stop was Al's Formal Wear because I received an e-mail saying "Free Invitations with order".  Their tuxes ended up being pretty expensive.  They were probably so expensive because they were a national chain.  We ended up getting the guys tuxes at the same place I got my dress (a local boutique) for at least $40.00 dollars cheaper per tux!

We are going with grey suits they are super sharp looking.  The fiance did a good job picking them out!

**If the guys have their own dress shoes or cowboy boots it will save about $20.00 on the rental cost.
